Second Fitting + Designer Notes #4 (28/3)

17:53

My second fitting was much better than the first. Since the sleeves were the trouble point, I left one off so that I could pitch and mark notches on one on Guy, which are the notches I have used in my final pattern. The overall fit has improved, and I had marked the break line and button holes (as advised by Marie) so we could see how it would fasten and sit more easily. The change to the shoulder by opening it up, lengthening it in the front, meant the collar sits correctly now. The break line, button placement, collar and sleeve length were all sorted now.

Fiona made some design decisions again, so I had this list of alterations to make:

  • Bring hem up by 4.5cm
  • Longer vent - 23.5cm from new hem
  • Take in 5cm at centreback waist
  • Narrow lapel, as drawn on
  • Take 2cm out of the shoulder seam, as pinned
  • Take in front darts, 2cm total each
  • Pocket placement, as drawn on
  • Pitch sleeve, as pinned and use notches marked
